EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - State regulators have dropped an effort to close a medical marijuana dispensary in Eugene.

The Register-Guard (https://bit.ly/1snrn45 ) reported Monday that the Oregon Health Authority notified The Greener Side dispensary in April it was too close to a school. Dispensaries are barred within 1,000 feet of a school.

The agency checked out an anonymous complaint, found a school listed within 1,000 feet of the Greener Side dispensary and moved to revoke the license. The business appealed, and the state found that the school had moved.

The state has approved 18 dispensary applications in Lane County, given provisional approval to six more and rejected 29. Two applications are pending.

Statewide, 138 have been approved, 51 have been provisionally approved and 184 have been rejected. Forty-four are still pending.
