CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) - A Centennial Airport official says the pilot of a small plane was uninjured during a fire before takeoff.

Airport spokeswoman Deborah Smith says the fire on the plane happened at about 10:50 a.m. Monday. The plane was a single-engine Piper PA-46 Malibu turboprop.

KMGH-TV reports (https://goo.gl/xmxHBj ) that the plane was taxiing for takeoff when the fire happened. The pilot was the only person onboard.

Smith says investigators don’t yet know the cause of the fire.
