ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Police in Athens have arrested a 20-year-old man suspected of firing shots into a crowd of people.

Athens-Clarke County police say Santino Deante Luke turned himself in Monday. He has been charged with aggravated assault after three people were wounded in the shooting early Sunday morning.

The Athens Banner-Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1qcfJaR) that officers were dispatched to the location on Deer Parkway after someone reported shots being fired. Witnesses told police at least six gunshots were fired from a moving car.

The three people who had been shot were taken to a hospital by others at the scene when the gunfire happened. Information on their conditions wasn’t available early Monday.

It was not immediately known if Luke had an attorney to represent him.
