BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) - Nearly a year after the town manager resigned in Brattleboro, Vermont, a replacement hasn’t been named.

Last year, the selectboard failed to pick a new manager out of at least 62 candidates. It later reopened its search, drawing 43 applicants.

The Brattleboro Reformer reports (https://bit.ly/1bI41RH) a search committee member says the candidate at the top of the list withdrew his name and took another job. It wasn’t immediately clear if another candidate was offered the position.

Selectboard Chairman David Gartenstein said the board would give a report at its July 15 meeting.

Last year, Barbara Sondag left the post to accept a job in Missouri.
