APPLETON, Wis. (AP) - A 12-year-old Appleton girl will have lunch with Michelle Obama after winning a recipe contest sponsored by the first lady’s Let’s Move! initiative.

Post-Crescent Media reported (https://post.cr/1vXHNjM ) Tuesday that Sarah Ganser’s African sweet potato stew was named the winning recipe from Wisconsin. Ganser will join the winners from other states, the District of Columbia and three U.S territories at a White House lunch on July 18.

Ganser says she likes cooking and often works with her mom on new recipes. She says she enjoys figuring out all the different things that can be made with a group of ingredients.

Ganser’s recipe was chosen from more than 1,500 entries. It will be included in a free cookbook that can be downloaded from websites including https://www.letsmove.gov/ .
