COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Amerijet International is opening an air cargo hub at a central Ohio airport.

Angie Tabor of the Columbus Regional Airport Authority says the cargo carrier’s inaugural flight out of Rickenbacker International Airport in Columbus is being honored Tuesday with a ceremonial water-cannon salute.

Florida-based Amerijet International Inc. has said that Rickenbacker will be one of its key air cargo hubs connecting several cities within the United States.

Amerijet International officials have said that Rickenbacker’s location within a one-day drive to nearly 50 percent of the U.S. population made it a good choice for the new coast-to-coast freighter service.
