DETROIT (AP) - Academic and other offerings at 17 Detroit public high schools will be showcased for potential students and their parents at recruitment events.

The district says regional fairs will be held from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at Benjamin Carson High School of Science & Medicine, Western International and Cody high schools.

Medicine and science, aerospace, design and alternative energy, technology and agriscience are some of the programs offered at the 17 schools. Those schools are accepting enrollment for the fall semester.

The recruitment fairs also will feature information on career track recommendations, safety, interscholastic athletics, career and technical centers, and college scholarships.
