BARNSTABLE, Mass. (AP) - A former Truro police chief who resigned in 2011 after crashing a brand new police cruiser while drunk is facing new charges for allegedly driving drunk with his 3-year-old son in his vehicle.

John Lundborn pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, subsequent offense; child endangerment while operating under the influence; and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.

Police say the 46-year-old Lundborn was spotted in the parking lot of a Hyannis McDonald’s last Thursday apparently drunk. He refused field sobriety tests and a breath test.

The Cape Cod Times (https://bit.ly/1kzpAng ) reports that Lundborn was ordered Monday to stay drug and alcohol free and submit to random drug and alcohol screenings. He was also prohibited from driving.
