LAS VEGAS (AP) - Southern Nevada home prices continued to climb in June.

The Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors reported Tuesday that the median home price in June was just shy of $200,000, up from $195,000 in May.

The median price is up 14 percent from what it was a year ago, but still well below its June 2006 peak of $315,000.

Association chief Heidi Kasama says she’s encouraged to see more traditional buyers enter into the market, as opposed to investors paying in cash. Less than 35 percent of homebuyers are paying in all cash now, which is the lowest it’s been since July 2009.

The association says nearly 3,300 homes were sold in June, down from about 3,500 in May and 3,600 a year ago.
