CLAY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a 72-year-old man who died after the boat he was in apparently capsized in the St. Clair River.

The Times Herald of Port Huron reports (https://bwne.ws/1pWruGs ) Richard Venzuch was pronounced dead after being pulled from the river Sunday night in St. Clair County’s Clay Township.

Authorities say they found the Clay Township man unresponsive about an hour after being called. First responders attempted to revive him and he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His 12-foot aluminum boat was found nearby.

The search took place about 35 miles northeast of Detroit.
