MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) - Residents of a Mitchell apartment building were evacuated for about seven hours while police investigated a suspected methamphetamine lab inside the building.

Police shut down area streets and told residents in the building to leave for their own safety about 3 p.m. Monday. They were allowed back about 10 p.m.

Two people were detained for questioning. Police did not immediately make any arrests.
