JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - Scientists report a small earthquake that likely was completely unnoticed was recorded just south of Jersey City.

The 1.3 magnitude quake occurred at a depth of about seven miles at 5:08 a.m. Tuesday.

U.S. Geological Survey geophysicist Susan Hoover tells The Jersey Journal (https://bit.ly/VXbJ4W ) there are no reports of residents feeling the quake and it would be uncommon for it to cause any damage.
