MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say the twin brother of Montgomery’s police chief has been arrested after he was accused of leaving the scene of a crash.

The Montgomery Advertiser reports (https://on.mgmadv.com/1u4KCAk ) 50-year-old Patrick Murphy was arrested Saturday on a felony charge related to a May 19 accident.

Montgomery Public Safety Director Christopher Murphy, who isn’t related to the brothers, says Patrick Murphy was accompanied by his attorney when he turned himself in.

Authorities say Patrick Murphy’s vehicle hit another and then hit three more vehicles as he drove away from the scene of the initial crash. He was one of four drivers who received non-life-threatening injuries in the accident.

Patrick Murphy is the twin brother of police Chief Kevin Murphy.

State officials are overseeing the Montgomery police investigation of the wrecks.
