NORTH HUDSON, N.Y. (AP) - A gas station along the Adirondack Northway that’s been idle for a decade is re-opening.

The former Frontier Town Gas Station at Exit 29 is expected to be open by mid-July.

New owner Muhammad Ahmad tells the Plattsburgh Press-Republican (https://bit.ly/1o68xA8 ) he’s already getting the place in shape, and Town Supervisor Ronald Moore says residents are excited.

The Frontier Town Gas Station operated for about five years after the wild west theme park closed in 1998.

Moore says the town will use the theme park to create snowmobile, horse, mountain bike, and hiking trails in an effort to draw visitors to the area. He says the Boreas Pond lands the state acquired from Finch Paper will soon be open, and there will be new trails to Newcomb, Long Lake and Inlet.
