ESTES PARK, Colo. (AP) - Rocky Mountain National Park rangers have found the body of a missing hiker on Longs Peak.

KMGH reports that the 24-year-old Fort Collins man went missing Monday, when he planned to summit the peak but didn’t return (https://bit.ly/1kNL3N9).

Rangers located the body Tuesday afternoon 1,000 feet below the Keyhole Route down the Trough. It was not immediately clear if he died on the ascent or descent.

Weather prevented recovery efforts Tuesday afternoon and evening. Park officials said recovery efforts would resume when conditions allow.

The man was not immediately identified.
