COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah (AP) - A 12-year-old boy and 20-year-old man have been arrested in the theft of $50,000 in gold coins from a Cottonwood Heights home.

The boy and Skyler Brigham are accused of breaking a basement window to gain entry to the house.

Police say they tracked down the two through a GPS tracker placed on the homeowner’s cellphone, which also was stolen.

Cottonwood Heights Police Chief Robbie Russo told KTVX-TV (https://bit.ly/1la2jMi ) the two are part of a group that has been in trouble with the law over the last week.

He says they’re part of a skating group associated with teens involved in last week’s shooting death of 17-year-old Harley Jarrett.

Two skaters are accused of stealing the gun used to kill Jarrett from a home near a skating park.
