HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A homeless man has been shot to death in Hartford.

Police say the 33-year-old victim was found on Vine Street at about 2:45 a.m. Wednesday with a bullet wound to the chest. He was transported to Saint Francis Hospital and died a few hours later.

Police had gone to the scene after being alerted to the gunfire by the city’s ShotSpotter system.

Police say the section of the street where the shooting occurred is undergoing construction and is completely vacant.

The victim listed his home address as a shelter on Main Street.

No arrests have been made. Police were withholding the victim’s name until his family could be notified.
