ST. CHARLES, Mich. (AP) - A severe storm capable of producing a tornado has damaged homes and downed trees in Saginaw County.

The Saginaw News reports (https://bit.ly/1lfQrZd ) the storm passed through Wednesday evening and prompted a tornado warning.

The National Weather Service says residents in the area southwest of St. Charles reported multiple downed trees, damaged houses and a garage blown off its foundation.

A weather service survey crew will visit the county Thursday to assess the damage.

A spokeswoman for Consumers Energy tells the newspaper that 920 customers were without power after the storm as of 7:45 p.m.
