LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) - A woman who died after jumping into a Boulder County irrigation ditch to rescue a dog has been identified as 31-year-old Megan Davis of Longmont.

Witnesses say Davis went after a dog that fell into the fast-moving water of the Highland Ditch near Longmont on Tuesday. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office says her friends pulled her from the water and performed CPR, but she could not revived.

The dog was rescued.
