OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - South Puget Sound Community College has decided to discontinue its horticulture program.

College spokeswoman Kellie Purce Braseth says a study of graduates found many of the jobs the two-year program was designed to fill are now being taken by high school graduates.

One student, Shana Burk, told The Olympian (https://bit.ly/1lntqmY) the college told students one of the reasons for ending the program was that graduates aren’t earning enough money with their degrees.
