PHOENIX (AP) - A Phoenix man arrested in the drowning of his 3-month-old son in a bathtub has been ordered released on bond.

Court charging documents say 19-year-old Carlos H. Castillo was allowed to post bail Wednesday on $180,000 bond.

He faces one count of second-degree murder and three felony counts of child abuse.

Authorities say Phoenix Castillo was found at about 10:45 a.m. by his grandmother in the bathtub of a home near Van Buren Street and 27th Avenue.

The child later died at a hospital.

Carlos Castillo told investigators he placed all three of his children in the bathtub with no water plug in and turned on the water. He then went to another room and fell asleep.

A public defender will be appointed to represent Castillo.
