FRANKLIN, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say a second teenager has died after being caught in the churning waters near a central Indiana dam while trying to rescue a friend.

Indiana Conservation Officers say 16-year-old Michael Chadbourne of Franklin died early Wednesday. The Marion County coroner’s office said Tuesday he was on life support at an Indianapolis hospital until his organs were donated.

Chadbourne was pulled from the Big Blue River on Friday after he and three other teens tried to save Sarah McLevish, a fellow Franklin Community High School student had been swept over a dam at Edinburgh. A diver found 17-year-old Jason Moran’s body on Sunday.

Two other young men escaped on their own from the river about 30 miles south of Indianapolis

McLevish has been hospitalized in critical condition.
