COLTS NECK, N.J. (AP) - A teenage boy who allegedly stabbed a central New Jersey woman and stole her car last summer will be tried as an adult.

Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni announced the decision Wednesday.

Seventeen-year-old Brennan Doyle of Colts Neck is charged with attempted murder, carjacking and two weapons offenses stemming from the July 2013 attack in Colts Neck.

Gramiccioni says the 41-year-old victim heard a noise outside her home late at night and, when she opened the door to investigate, Doyle allegedly pushed his way inside her home and stabbed her several times. Doyle then allegedly took her car keys and drove off in her vehicle, which was found in Aberdeen later that day.

The woman was hospitalized for several days.

Doyle remains jailed on $760,000 cash bail
