SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Police say four people have been injured after a woman sped through downtown Syracuse and crashed into a pedestrian and a pickup truck.

Officials tell local media that a woman appeared to be unconscious behind the wheel of a Mercedes Benz stopped at a downtown intersection around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. While passersby tapped on her car’s window and flagged down an officer, the woman woke up.

Police say she appeared to be confused and disoriented as she suddenly drove off at a high speed before turning a corner, hitting a pedestrian and slamming into a pickup truck. The car wound up on the sidewalk outside the Syracuse Post-Standard building.

Officers say four people were injured and taken to the hospital. Information on their injuries hasn’t been released yet.
