GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say an Alabama State Trooper was injured during an arrest in Guntersville.

WAAY-TV reports ( ) Trooper Seth Hannah tried to stop a four-wheel ATV that was driving in the middle of the road. He said there have been a lot of complaints about ATVs from residents in the area.

When the ATV turned into a neighborhood, the trooper got out of his car and chased the ATV driver on foot. Hannah arrested the driver following a brief scuffle. Hannah injured his arm and leg in the altercation and was treated at the hospital.

Authorities say 31-year-old Kenny Sparks of Boaz was arrested and charged with assault, DUI, resisting arrest, reckless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia. It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer.
