ATLANTA (AP) - State officials say the Georgia Archives’ hours of operation will be expanding beginning in mid-July.

University System of Georgia officials say beginning July 15, the archives will be open Tuesdays in addition to being open Wednesday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The archives, which are managed by the University System of Georgia, collects and preserves records and information on Georgia and its residents.

The archives were initially housed in the State Capitol building in Atlanta, but were moved in 2003 to a facility in Morrow - which is about 15 miles south of downtown Atlanta.
