CADIZ, Ky. (AP) - A western Kentucky man charged with murder in a Trigg County cold case has pleaded guilty.

The Kentucky New Era (https://bit.ly/1v3unUQ ) reports 28-year-old Seth Hooks entered the plea Wednesday in Trigg Circuit Court. Prosecutors are recommending a life sentence.

He was charged with killing 64-year-old Harvey Choat, who was found dead in his Trigg County home on March 18, 2008 of multiple gunshot wounds. Hooks was arrested more than five years later after police received an anonymous tip in the case.

Hooks’ attorney, Julia Mudd, said her client would be eligible for parole after 20 years.

Sentencing in the case was set for Aug. 13.
