BREESE, Ill. (AP) - Police say they’ve arrested a suspect in connection with a hit-and-run vehicle wreck that killed a 23-year-old pedestrian.

Breese police say in a statement that the unidentified suspect is cooperating with investigators after last weekend’s death of Lana Albert of Edwardsville.

There was no immediate word Thursday about any charges.

Police say officers responding to reports of a woman walking in and out of traffic on old U.S. 50 found Albert’s body a couple hundred yards from a sports bar where she had last been seen with friends.

Albert died at the scene.
