NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - New Castle police say the department’s chief was injured during a struggle with a man during an arrest.

Officers say Chief Dan Tjaden was patrolling Buttonwood Avenue on Tuesday when he spotted a suspicious parked vehicle. Police say Tjaden ordered the driver to stay in the car, but the man ran off.

Authorities say Tjaden chased and caught the man after a brief struggle. Tjaden sustained lacerations.

The News Journal of Wilmington reports (https://delonline.us/1jngitT) that 20-year-old Max C. Ramski of New Castle was charged with resisting arrest and possession of heroin after four bags of the drug were found.
