HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (AP) - Police are offering a reward for help finding the gunman in the February shooting of a Long Island developer and power broker.

Suffolk County police released photos Thursday of a light-colored four-door Jeep Grand Cherokee.

They say that’s the vehicle used by the man who shot Gary Melius outside Oheka Castle in Huntington.

Melius owns the lavish, 127-room mansion. It’s been used as a hotel and event hall and as a backdrop for movies and photo shoots.

Police say a masked man accosted Melius as he walked to his car around 12:30 p.m., Feb. 24 and shot him in the head.

Melius is recovering.

Police are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. They ask people with information about the shooting to call 1-800-220-TIPS.
