ROCKLAND, Mass. (AP) - A Rockland man has been charged with fatally stabbing his wife after police found her dying in their driveway being tended by neighbors as he sat on their porch.

Fifty-six-year-old Richard Langley is held without bail after pleading not guilty Thursday to a murder charge.

The Plymouth district attorney’s office said police responding to calls of a stabbing at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday took 52-year-old Patricia Langley to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A police report said Richard Langley told officers he stabbed his wife during an argument because he believed she was having an affair. Police said Langley told his wife repeatedly to “die,” using an expletive, as they led him away.

Several of Patricia Langley’s relatives attended his arraignment in Hingham District Court. They declined to comment afterward, as did Richard Langley’s attorney.
