SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - San Francisco police say a tense overnight standoff with an armed man who barricaded himself inside a home has ended peacefully.
Police spokeswoman Sgt. Danielle Newman says the man surrendered around 7:30 a.m. Thursday. His name has not been released, though police say he is in his 30s.
The man’s two children, who were also inside the home, were not hurt.
Newman says the standoff in the city’s Visitacion Valley neighborhood began after the suspect was involved in a domestic violence incident at another home on Wednesday night. He allegedly fired several gunshots there, though no one was hurt.
The suspect was later located at the Visitacion Valley home. A SWAT team was called in after he allegedly refused to come out.
