MASSENA, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a Sears employee has died from injuries suffered when he was pinned under merchandise when shelves collapsed at a northern New York store.

State police say 35-year-old Joshua Quintilliani of Waddington died Tuesday night at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vermont.

He had been in critical condition since he was injured last Saturday evening while working at the St. Lawrence Center Mall in Massena.

Troopers say Quintilliani was organizing the storage racks in the store’s warehouse when the shelves gave way, pinning him under plywood, glass and metal materials.

An autopsy is scheduled Thursday at the Vermont hospital.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
