STODDARD, N.H. (AP) - Police say a homeowner escaped injury when a tractor trailer hauling part of a modular home struck his garage in Stoddard.

The accident happened just after 6 p.m. Thursday on Route 9 when the trailer’s driver tried to avoid hitting a vehicle that had stopped to make a left turn. The trailer ended up hitting a two-car garage.

The driver, 55-year-old Paul Raymond Richard of Manchester, has been taken to a hospital as a precaution. Police say he’s believed to have minor injuries. The homeowner wasn’t identified.

Authorities say the garage and one of two vehicles parked inside it sustained major damage. The collision also caused a power outage.

The accident is being investigated.
