BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) - Two feet tall letters, explicit language, gang-related messages and symbols are the types of graffiti sprayed across the Sacred Inspirational Source Ministries’ building in a Bossier City neighborhood.

It’s something police say they haven’t really seen much of in over a decade.

KTBS-TV reports (https://bit.ly/TLiXYx ) the graffiti is also on nearby playground equipment and other structures in the area.

Bossier City Police spokesman Mark Natale said Wednesday the department has stepped up patrols and begun monitoring the activity.

Meanwhile, the graffiti on the ministries’ building violates Bossier City’s blight code. They have 10 days to correct it or face a $150 fine. Because of the circumstances, Natale says the city is willing to work with them.

Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call Bossier Crimestoppers at 318-424-4100.
