BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) - Authorities say a man died after he pointed a gun at Bossier City police.

Police spokesman Mark Natale (nuh-TAH-lee) says two officers responded to a silent alarm at a shoe store Thursday night and found a man running from the scene.

Natale says the man turned toward the officers and pointed a gun during a foot chase.

He says shots were fired and the man died at the scene. The officers were not injured.

Police have not released the identified the victim or the officers involved in the shooting.
