FAIR LAWN, N.J. (AP) - Police in northern New Jersey say they found a burglar with a knife hiding under a child’s bed.

The child was not sleeping in the room at the time.

Fair Lawn police were called to the home on Harrison Drive early Thursday because the resident believed someone had broken in.

The Record (https://bit.ly/SSDHg5 ) newspaper reports police said officers found 56-year-old Kenneth Webb hiding under the child’s bed.

Police believe Webb had entered the home by cutting a screen after opening an unlocked window.

Webb, who is homeless, is held on $35,000 bail, charged with burglary.
