PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Heavy thunderstorms moving across central eastern Pennsylvania have caused street flooding and thousands of power outages.

The National Weather Service has issued flash flood watches and warnings into Friday night and overnight Saturday.

Stranded motorists had to be rescued from cars in the Lehigh Valley and in the Reading area, while utilities were dealing with thousands of outages.
