KELSO, Wash. (AP) - Blame the bee.

Police in Kelso, Washington, say a 22-year-old driver told them he panicked and lost control of his pickup when a bee flew into the cab Wednesday evening. As he tried to avoid being stung, the truck crashed into a telephone pole. The crash knocked down the pole and ripped the power lines from a nearby house.

The Daily News of Longview reports (https://is.gd/EtSLWy ) that left resident Dorothy Wilson without power overnight. She said Thursday that an inspector who needed to ensure her breaker box wasn’t damaged couldn’t respond right away. She ran an extension cord to a neighbor’s house to keep her freezer running.

No one was hurt. No citations were listed on the police report.

Wilson says she feels bad for the driver. In her words, “No one wants to get in a crash, let alone explain something like this.”
