PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (AP) - A Pennsylvania man is in a northern New York jail after state police say they found more than 200 bags of heroin in his car during a traffic stop.

Troopers say Raymond Jackson of Reading, Pennsylvania was driving north on Interstate 87, the Adirondack Northway, when they pulled him over Wednesday afternoon in the town of Plattsburgh, near the Canadian border 140 miles north of Albany.

Police say Jackson had 230 bags of heroin and 21 grams of cocaine in his car.

He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

Jackson is being held Friday in the Clinton County Jail on $25,000 bail. It couldn’t be determined if he has a lawyer.

An Albany-area woman riding with Jackson wasn’t charged.
