SHALER, Pa. (AP) - Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a woman shot and critically wounded her ex-boyfriend before turning the weapon on herself on the porch of a home near Pittsburgh.

Allegheny County police were called to the Shaler residence at about 6:20 a.m. Friday after neighbors reported hearing gunshots. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office says 43-year-old Sharon DeMore of Etna was pronounced dead just before 7 a.m.

Assistant superintendent James Morton says the woman was waiting in a chair on the porch when the man came out to leave for work. Morton says she opened fire on the man, then shot and killed herself.

Police rushed the unidentified man to a hospital with three gunshot wounds, but didn’t release more details about his condition.
