PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - Members of the South Dakota High School Activities Association voted to pass three of five new amendments to the organization’s constitution.

The Association governs sports and fine arts activities in member schools across the state.

A new policy sets consequences for students and coaches ejected from a contest. And after a third ejection, the offender will miss the remainder of the season.

The other two polices will affect the makeup of the association’s Board of Directors. One change states that no school can have more than one representative on the board. The second states that if a board member loses his or her position, such as in a school, then he or she is no longer eligible to serve on the board.

The new policies take effect July 1.
