SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Springfield police have arrested four people in what they are calling a major heroin bust.

Officers also seized almost 5,000 small bags of heroin, 223 grams of pure heroin and almost $4,000 in cash while making a street arrest and executing a search warrant at a city home on Thursday afternoon. Police described the home in the Forest Park neighborhood as a “heroin distribution factory.”

Police also seized items used in the weighing, cutting and packaging of heroin.

The four men arrested face arraignment on Friday on drug charges.
