BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (AP) - Bloomfield police say they expect to make arrests in the sale of marijuana-laced brownies at the Metropolitan Learning Center.

Police were called to the school on Wednesday after a 15-year-old student became sick. That student told authorities he had purchased a “weed brownie” from an 18-year-old.

The 15-year-old was sent to the hospital after hyperventilating and arriving at the nurse’s office in what police described as a stupor.

Authorities say they believe up to eight students consumed the brownies and all of them were aware of the ingredients.

School officials sent a letter home saying anyone who participated in the snacking will face penalties including expulsion and arrest.
