HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - A graduate student is being nominated by Gov. Tom Corbett as the next student trustee on Penn State University board.

Allie Goldstein, a second-year Ph.D. candidate in higher education, was tapped for the seat Friday. If confirmed by the state Senate, she’ll succeed Peter Khoury.

The governor says Goldstein is a dedicated student and civic-minded leader who’ll proudly represent the interests of her fellow students.

The Penn State-oriented, online news service Onward State says Goldstein received a master’s degree in post-secondary educational leadership from San Diego State University in 2012. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Buffalo.
