HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Forrest County Constable Wayne Taylor has died at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg from complications of a heart attack. He was 59.

A memorial service will announced later.

Board of Supervisors President David Hogan says in a statement that Taylor was serving his third term. Hogan says Taylor had suffered a heart attack last weekend and was in the hospital when he died.

Taylor began working with the Forrest County Sheriff’s Department after graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1977 before being elected constable.

Survivors include his wife, Kay; a daughter and two brothers.
