GARDEN CITY, Mich. (AP) - A pet adoption and awareness event is planned for Garden City.

The Detroit suburb’s Downtown Development Authority is hosting its second annual Flea Circus on Saturday.

Area pet rescue organizations are to be on hand with a number of animals looking for a home. Among the groups are Dog Aide, P.O.E.T Animal Rescue, Last Day Dog Rescue, Providing For Paws and the Monroe Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The Garden City Flea Circus also is to feature a mobile veterinary clinic providing basic canine and feline vaccinations for a nominal fee. And the city clerk is to have pet licenses available for purchase.
