MONROE, La. (AP) - University of Louisiana-Monroe alumnus and printmaking instructor Doyle Jeter has been named artist-in-residence at the university’s School of Visual and Performing Arts for the 2014-15 academic year.

The News-Star reports (https://tnsne.ws/1n6wGS2 ) Jeter, a 1975 graduate of the university, is touring the country exhibiting his collection of lithographs featured in Jude Southerland Kessler’s novel “She Loves You,” the third book of a nine-volume series on the life of John Lennon.

In February, Jeter and Kessler held a week of events in Monroe to celebrate the book’s release, the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show and their film, “A Hard Day’s Night.”

Jeter and Kessler will continue the celebration later this month with an exhibition and reception at the Morgan Gallery in Corrales, New Mexico.
