DENVER (AP) - An Aurora man involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian has been sentenced to four years in prison.

The Denver Post reports (https://bit.ly/1pXF0pR ) Nathan Beechley was sentenced Friday for the April 9, 2013, crash that killed 35-year-old Jonathan Daniel Lewis. Beechley previously pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide.

Authorities say Lewis was struck by a vehicle near Ninth Avenue and Colorado Boulevard in Denver and was pronounced dead at the scene. Beechley told the judge he had two drinks at a strip club after completing an 85-hour workweek, and he fell asleep while driving.

He said he woke up to a thump, which he thought was the sound of his car hitting a traffic cone.
