TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) - A former food service manager at Munson Medical Center has pleaded guilty to embezzling from the Traverse City hospital.

WPBN-WTOM reports Jeffrey Ales made the plea Friday to a charge of embezzlement of more than $1,000 and less than $20,000.

Court documents show that Munson officials counted $27,500 in personal purchases that Ales made in the hospital’s name.

He’s to be sentenced on July 11.

The Traverse City Record-Eagle has said Ales worked as a senior manager for Sodexo, a company contracted to provide the hospital’s food services.

The Traverse City resident previously had pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of embezzlement from a nonprofit.
